Welcome to Ms. Hannigan's Kindergarten Class. Teaching Kindergarten has been my passion for the past 25 years. I started working in education while in college as a Kindergarten teacher assistant. I knew immediately that I had found my calling in teaching young children. For the last 22 years I have been blessed to be teaching at Eanes Elementary where I have built an extended family of former students and their parents. This community has been an important part of my life and I am thankful that I have the opportunity to watch my students grow.
As a teacher, I feel that my job is to help all of my students love school and learning. I strive to make my students' Kindergarten experience a memory they will cherish and to give them a great start in their academic journey. I open my heart and share my enthusiasm and love for learning with all the children in my classroom. Each child needs time to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally at their own pace and in their own way. A Kindergarten classroom needs to be designed to fit the developmental needs, abilities and strengths of each child. My classroom is always open and I welcome visitors at any time during the day. Working closely with my students' parents is essential to ensure a child's success in school.

When I am not in the class I enjoy being active outdoors. I am originally from Colorado which instilled an appreciation for the love of nature. You can find me riding my bike, hiking the trails, playing in the snow (not in Austin!), or paddle boarding on the weekends. During the summers, I enjoy traveling and exploring other parts of the world.
